Video conferencing streamlines work practices
December 2007
Working throughout the country the WISE Group is geographically dispersed. To reduce travel costs, improve business efficiency and promote a more sustainable way of working, WISE Management Services rolled out video conferencing to 12 sites around the country earlier this year.
With a high uptake since then, the video conferencing solution has recently been improved to allow more seamless integration with external organisations.
Chief Information Officer, Stuart Prendergast says the upgrade, which involves both new equipment and extended network services, is a natural step.
“It means video conference units on the WISE network will be able to conference in with most organisations locally and overseas. People will also be able to dial in to conferences via a phone if they don’t have access to video conferencing equipment and participate via audio.
Stuart says the video conferencing project wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of Telecom, who contributed $150,000 towards equipment.
