Le Va launches the B.R.A.V.E. video on World Suicide Prevention Day

“B.R.A.V.E. is part of...New Zealand's first national suicide prevention education programme for Pasifika communities – FLO Talanoa. ”

Le Va has produced a digital resource called B.R.A.V.E. that gives voice to our Pasifika young people, who are making an honest plea for all of us to listen.

10 September is World Suicide Prevention Day and this year's theme is ‘Reaching Out and Saving Lives’. This theme encourages us all to show care and support to our most vulnerable, because it can make all the difference. Asking other’s if they are ok, listening to what they have to say in a non-judgmental way, and letting them know you care can ignite communities and create change.

This year we want to share with you what our Pasifika young people would like you to know about suicide prevention. Le Va has produced a digital resource called B.R.A.V.E. that gives voice to our Pasifika young people, who are making an honest plea for all of us to listen.

B.R.A.V.E. is part of a suite of resources complementing New Zealand's first national suicide prevention education programme for Pasifika communities – FLO Talanoa. FLO Talanoa will be led by communities for communities, with facilitators receiving free training from Le Va and reciprocating by delivering free workshops in their communities, resulting in action plans for our families and their communities. If you are interested in being a facilitator, please contact us.

Every 40 seconds someone in the world takes their own life – in New Zealand, many are our young people. Be B.R.A.V.E. and together we can help give hope. Feel free to share this video with your networks
